Vancouver and Toronto Are Top Cities for World Cup Visitors

Vancouver and Toronto are considered two of the top three best host cities for visitors attending the 2026 FIFA World Cup competition, according to Sports Illustrated magazine. Vancouver, in British Columbia, was ranked the #1 best World Cup host city, followed by #2 Seattle, Washington (USA), and #3 Toronto, Ontario, out of the 16 North American host cities. Vancouver received the highest rating for several reasons, including its mild weather, transportation system, proximity of World Cup events to downtown restaurants and pubs, as well as its many Pacific coast beaches. Toronto also received high marks for the close proximity of World Cup events to downtown restaurants, pubs and Lake Ontario beaches, along with being a multicultural city. To read more, click here!
